International projects

The school has applied for the funds of the project “Equipment for the class laboratories at High Vocational School in Suwalki” from the financial means of the European Funds of Regional Development within the project of “Integrated Operating Program of Regional Development”.

Activity 1.3 – Regional Social Infrastructure

Sub activities 1.3.1

Regional educational infrastructure was chosen to be financed by the order of the Podlaski Voivod council no 199/2530/06 on 6^th May 2006. The total value of the project is 1 126 036,82 zl within whose funds of the Integrated Operating Program of Regional Development contains 844 527,60 zl for the school.

The increase in the quality of education and availability of the education for the local community will be the best results of the applied project. The project is hoped to decrease the differences between the regions and equal the chances to the access of education for the youth of Suwalki, Augustów, and Sejny region in Podlaski District. Moreover the project is also considered to help develop the international cooperation on the scientific-research field of the bordering countries. We hope it will make a students exchange easier for the students from , , and especially those of polish origin. Furthermore the project is thought to intensify the meaning of the school in the region.

The main aim of the project is to equip the class laboratories of agro physics, botany, chemistry, agricultural chemistry with modern, high quality appliances and testing equipment which will enable our students to learn through practice.

On the basis of the applied project between High Vocational School in Suwalki and Alytus College 3 projects came into being:

“The development of cooperation of High school from Alytus and Suwalki.”
“The Development of Vocational training in Niemen Euroregion and Encouragement of youth cooperation.”
“The contest of business plans for the bordering areas.”

The financial help is expected from the program INTERREG III A/Tacis (Neighborhood Program of Lithuania-Poland-Kaliningrad - district of Russia Federation).

Public Institution PVC from Kaunas is a partner in the project as well and High Vocational School in Suwalki plays a role of a financial partner.

The idea of the first project “The development of cooperation of High school from Alytus and Suwalki.” is the development of the common studies program for both High Vocational School in Suwalki and Alytus College. As a result students from Alytus will be able to receive the Bachelor’s degree in High Vocational School in Suwalki.

The second project “The Development of Vocational training in Niemen Euroregion and Encouragement of youth cooperation.” involves constructing the strategy of development for High Vocational School in Suwalki within the years 2007-2017 considering students exchange program for the following countries: , , and .

The aim of the third project “The contest of business plans for the bordering areas.”is to process the business plan of development training for the students of Alytus and Suwalki testing their management and educational abilities. The ides of training is for students, businessmen and non-government organizations’ representatives to build business plans together, discuss them and share the ideas of management. The constructed plans will take part in the contest in which the best three will be awarded. The jury of the contest will include the partners of the project and the non-government organizations’ representatives.

The bordering cooperation of the educational and trade organizations will be the result of the project. Another visible result of the project is thought to be the creation of an enterprise unit at High Vocational School in Suwalki which will also involve the promotion of employment and regional economic development.
